In June, we were fortunate enough to again work with Timebased Events, at Berkeley Square, London who were tasked with producing two high profile back-to-back events using the same temporary venue – The London Real Estate Forum and the The Glamour women of the year awards.

The second event was the London Real Estate Forum (LREF). This event is acknowledged as the premier real estate event in London and this year’s event has over 2,500 delegates in attendance while showcasing 100 projects from all over the capital and over 170 expert speakers.

LOCK5 were honoured to be involved in such great events for the fourth year running!

The biggest challenges for us on this event were location, time, other suppliers and planning:

The event takes place in Berkeley Square a beautiful tree lined square near Mayfair in the west end of London. It has limited parking, restricted access to the site and because of its location, it is incredibly busy with vehicles and pedestrians most of the day. We have to work closely with other supplier’s delivery schedules to ensure that we were able to unload early and quickly to avoid creating any congestion.

During the first phase of this project we were working to extremely tight deadlines; throughout the build we worked closely behind the temporary structure company, as soon as the frame is up and the roofs are in, we start installing; when we have nearly finished an area someone is behind us. It is a highly pressured build and because of this we had a large dedicated team present on site for a short amount of time; it is very intense and if there are any delays from anyone along the line this could be detrimental to the event as a whole. It is a testament to the overall project planning and our team that despite some long hard days, we always deliver.

In the initial planning for the first event we had to fully understand how the temporary structure was going to be reconfigured for the second event to allow us to plan ahead and ‘build in’ items during the first installation. For the second event we manufactured and installed a bespoke 20m x 40m one piece, pitched, tack-off roof section, along with additional tack-off as well as installing our white stock roof linings.

As Timebased Events improve the events year after year, we also endeavour to do the same, to consistently improve the standard of the product we deliver and always exceed expectations. The way that we do this on this project is by become more detailed in our planning and more efficient in our delivery.

This event is a perfect showcase for what LOCK5 excels in; installing bespoke tack-off fabric linings, in a short amount of time with a superior level of finish and all while working closely with other contractors.

“It’s always such a pleasure to work with the team at Lock5. They are friendly, professional and the quality of the finished product is exceptional. They are flexible and amenable, working to our tight deadlines.” - Timebased Events
